what a fun book to read so soon after reading the robot and monk books! didn't pair them on purpose, but it was a nice coincidence to see these themes play out for different audiences.

pairing the outdoors with computers at first seems like such a dissonance, but once you spend time exploring their pairing, it feels more like peanut butter and chocolate.

When a robot named Roz washes ashore on a remote island, she has to learn quickly how to adapt and survive in the wild. The animals on the island, initially wary of Roz, eventually come to accept her as one of their own. Roz’s interactions with the animals help her discover empathy, friendship, and the true meaning of family.
