The Lost Art of Reading Nature's Signs

notes

i loved this book as much as i was frustrated by it. and i found myself very frustrated at times. the chapters are over-stuffed with factoids and light science. it's a contant repition of the value of being observant and connecting your intuition to explain what you see in nature.

it's an unrelentless firehose. few will have the ability to retain much at all given this isn't a textbook followed by exercises. yet, the stories of their walks are fascinating. proving that these seemingly random facts, oberservations and science are tied together into one complex ecosystem and chain of events.

already, i have found myself researching more and practicing these observation on all my walks; short or long. i already love walking and this book makes me want to do it even more.
