after the 2024 (and 2016) election, essays abound trying to explain how the votes fell where they did.
most of them are likely wrong (especially the closer to the election they are written). many of them have hints of truth, but unlikely to explain the final outcome.
this one likely suffers from the same problems, but it does highlight a new feeling that doesn't rely on race, gender or location.
a likely deeply rooted human emotion when it comes to dealing with life that feels pitted against society as opposed to supported by it.
i don't think it will provide a map to building new coalitions, but it does help underscore the path to building a new message of hope.
