as much as i enjoyed the thrill and ideas of "Ready, Player One", this is the piece of art that actually let me be the player and not the viewer. a great novel of evolving characters, friendship and careers that had me feeling closer to the games i play, wanting to be closer to games i judged too quickly and feeling more reflective of my own game of life

spanning three decades, from the late 1990s to the present day, this novel follows the lives of two college students who become creative partners in the world of video game design. They make different choices in life, but their shared love of games keeps them connected.
