incredible world building story for kids to explore the science fiction genre.
we started the series two years ago (10/2022) and just wrapped up the final book
after an incredibly long wait.
apparently so many people were waiting for the final book, they even made a
trailer for it!
the story involved complext themes around anger, loss, and grief. the characters
were either fueled by them, made mistakes because of them, learned how to
channel them for good or all of the above.
the story does require a commitment to 9 books (stonekeeper, the stonekeeper's
curse, the cloud searchers, the last council, prince of the elves, escape from
lucien, firelight, supernova and waveride). however, it can go quickly if you
like robots, speaking animals and magical stones though.

summary
After their father's sudden death, Emily and Navin are uprooted from their home and moved to an ancestral house in another town with their mother in an attempt to start anew. However, there is something strange about the house and little did they know that it hides a secret that could lead them down a path of no return. When their mother is abducted by a sinister creature from another world through a mysterious basement door, Emily and Navin, determined to rescue her, venture forth into this unknown world with the aid of a small mechanical rabbit named Miskit. In this underground world full of demons, robots, and talking animals, they encounter countless perils and harrowing challenges. As they journey deeper, they come across an ominous voice that could guide them to their mother but it also plans to devour them. Emily must now summon the courage to confront this voice of darkness and beat it to save not only her mother but someone else dear to her heart.
